Garry Wilson refuses to talk about the possibility of Eastbourne Borough achieving promotion for the fourth time in six seasons.
A run of seven wins in their last eight league games has lifted Borough onto the fringes of the play-off zone but the memories of the terrible start they made to the season are still fresh in Wilson's mind.
After claiming just one point from their opening five games a fight for survival seemed more likely than a promotion battle as Borough slumped to the bottom of the table.
The turnaround in their fortunes since then has been remarkable and a victory over runaway leaders Grays at Priory Lane tomorrow would raise expectations even further.
Wilson said: "Our target at the start of the season was to make sure we survived at this level and my opinion has not changed. I know it is a bit of a tired old cliche but we still need to win three or four more games to be safe.
"If we continue playing like we have been recently then that will be no problem but if you looked at our situation a couple of months ago it shows how quickly things can change.
"As soon as we get carried away with ourselves then there is the possibility we will slip back into bad ways."
