I heard on the news that Adur and Worthing Councils are talking about a merger.
I would like to suggest the best solution would be that Southwick and Shoreham should be attached to what they are really a part of, the greater Brighton conurbation, while Lancing and Sompting are almost suburbs of Worthing and should join that authority.
The fact the first two are in West Sussex should not be a problem because back in 1974 Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead were transferred from East to West Sussex because they were "in the shadow" of Gatwick.
