Wayne Alexander is gunning for the world's top light-middleweight Ronald 'Winky' Wright.

Reigning WBU world champion Alexander wants a showdown with Wright to prove who is the best in the division and is confident of emerging the winner against Delroy Mellis, even though he has lost to him previously.

Alexander features on the Ricky Hatton-Ray Oliveira World Championship fight card in London tomorrow in a non-title fight ten-rounder.

The Hailsham-based fighter said: "Wright is a class act and put on a fantastic performance to beat Shane Mosley recently. He is a masterful boxer, the best in the world and I want him."

Big-hitting Alexander claimed the WBU title with a stunning victory over great rival Takaloo in September, flooring the Margate man with a blistering left hook which is sure to win the Knockout of the Year award.

He said: "No heavyweight in the world would have stood up to that punch let alone a light-middleweight.

"It would be lights-out for them."

Crawley welterweight Ross Minter fights Londoner Rober Lloyd Taylor at the ExCel Centre in Docklands tomorrow.
