Glamour model Jordan gave her fans an early Christmas treat when she popped into a shopping centre to sign copies of her latest calendar.

Hundreds of people waited to greet the celebrity during her visit to Clinton Cards, in Churchill Square, Brighton.

The 26-year-old Brighton girl, whose real name is Katie Price, turned up nearly an hour late and spent 40 minutes signing the £7.99 calendars.

Wearing a pink outfit, fluffy boots and a woolly knitted hat, she sat at a table in the doorway to the store and chatted to shoppers.

Her fiance, singer Peter Andre, sat on the floor beside her and she was keen to show fans her huge, sparkling engagement ring.

First in the queue was Daniel Wheatland, 24, from Burgess Hill, who waited nearly two hours to meet Katie.

He has only become a fan recently after watching her new TV reality show When Jordan Met Peter.

He said: "I am very excited. It was the first time I have ever seen her apart from on TV."

One of her youngest fans, Ryan Farrell, 11, from Brighton, was off school because he had been feeling ill but later went shopping with his auntie.

He said: "She is very pretty. I have been a fan for about three years and it was so exciting to meet her."

Another fan, Sam, 21, from Seaford, admitted he had lied to his boss in order to meet Katie. He claimed he was taking his nan to a hospital appointment.

Sam said: "It was really good. It was the first time I have seen her in real life. She was so normal and a lot different from what people say about her."

Teenager Judy Manville even entertained Katie and Peter. The 16-year-old, who hopes to become a singer, launched into LeAnn Rimes' How Do I Live.

Katie wrote on her calendar: "Keep up the singing."

Judy, from Brighton, said: "I thought if I sang to Peter he might take me to a recording studio. Katie told me I've got some guts."

But some people were disappointed. Hayley Keogh-Chainey, 16, from Brighton, rushed to see Katie in between mock GCSE exams at Portslade Community College.

But after waiting for more than an hour-and-a-half, she had to leave before Katie arrived.

Hayley said: "I think she is cool and I idolise her. I would love to be like her."

One elderly shopper who stopped to see what all the fuss was about, was not so impressed. "Who's Gordon?" she asked.
