I feel the people of Hove will come to regret Ivor Caplin's decision not to seek re-election.
He has been a first class constituency MP and we are lucky to have only one of a handful of MPs who represent the town of their birth and maintain strong links with the community.
I see the Conservatives have brought in another carpetbagger. Perhaps they should bring back Tim Sainsbury - I am sure we all remember what a keen interest he took in the town. I do not belong to any political party but, along with thousands of Hove-ites, will miss Ivor. He really cares about Hove.
