Avril Freeman states that "non-smokers have the choice of which eating and drinking places they go to" (Letters, November 15).

Really? Out of all the restaurants near where I live, I do not know of one which does not allow smoking.

My husband and I travel a round trip of about eight miles once a week by bus or in a friend's car for the pleasure of lunching out. The restaurant is always extremely busy.

We also wish more restaurants would serve traditional English food - roasts, shepherd's pie, steak and kidney pie, liver and bacon, omelettes, casseroles and vegetables in season, all freshly cooked.

Perhaps The Argus could devote a special page to any restaurants catering for such tastes?
