Three-quarters of a mile from the Hove junction of the Brighton bypass on the eastbound carriageway, a green milk crate has been lying on the central reserve just touching the fast lane white line for about six weeks, during which time it must have been seen and passed hundreds of times by the responsible authorities.
If it is not going to be cleared then something else will eventually happen to it, such as being flipped on to the road itself where its risk rating will sky rocket, particularly in the dark or fog.
