They are known for their sharp eye for all things stylish, so it is no surprise they want a piece of Britain's coolest city.

Property design couple Justin Ryan and Colin McAllister, who star in Channel Five's How Not To Decorate, have announced their sights are set on a fashionable pad i n Brighton and Hove.

Production company Ricochet, which produces their makeover show, is based in Brighton and the pair say they have fallen in love with the seaside.

Colin said: "We just love the walk along the promenade and all the little cafes on the seafront. I would love to get a modern apartment with a lovely sea view.

"Living here is the closest you can get to being abroad. The nightlife is great as well. When we are down here filming, we are out every night."

Justin said: "We have a lot of friends here and know the nooks and crannies we like. Breakfast at Hotel Pelirocco is a must and we like poking around the shops in Kemp Town. We definitely want our next home to be in Brighton."

The couple come from Glasgow, where they found fame after their renovations to their own home were featured in a magazine.

They begun to write property and decorating columns for the Glasgow Herald and magazines before BBC One asked them to present their own show, which led to their current jobs.

Colin said: "We take your decorating nightmares and turn them into dreams come true."

The pair transformed the home of Eastbourne couple Mel and Mike Hayes during the summer, fitting a new kitchen, bathroom, living room, bedroom and hallway.

They have been searching for a house to make over in Brighton since the series began last August but say no property has been ugly enough.
