Danny Cullip declared himself fit today for high-flying Albion's trip to Sunderland and pledged: "We are going there to win".

The Seagulls welcome back their talismanic captain for tomorrow's visit to the Stadium of Light, but Alexis Nicolas will be missing from midfield for the second match running.

Cullip has been sidelined from the last four games following hernia surgery.

Albion are unbeaten away from home since August with the skipper in the side.

Manager Mark McGhee will have no hesitation in recalling Cullip, providing the reliable central defender comes through training today before the squad travels to the north-east via plane from Gatwick to Newcastle.

Nicolas, however, misses out after struggling with his twisted ankle in training yesterday.

Cullip said: "I'm feeling good. I've had a couple of training sessions with the players now.

"This game was my target to see whether I could get back for it. Whether I play or not is another matter, that is not down to me.

"The boys have had two great results, drawing with Cardiff and beating Leeds, two teams close to us in the table.

"Four points from two home games was fantastic and now we are going to the Stadium of Light, which is going to be a great occasion for the players and the fans.

"I've seen it on the telly and it is meant to be a really great place. We know how passionate the fans are up in the north-east, so we are really looking forward to it."

Albion will not be sitting back, even without suspended top scorer Adam Virgo.

"We can't go there looking for a draw, we have to be positive," Cullip said. "We are going to try to win the game.

"At the beginning of the season we were still bedding in as a team. We stuck together when a lot of teams wouldn't have, now we are coming through it and everyone is gaining confidence.

"Before the season started I remember saying, looking at the other teams, it is probably as hard as this league has been.

"It is competitive because you don't know who is going to get promoted out of possibly eight teams, but we have come a long way.

"We have gone to Leicester, Nottingham Forest and Gillingham and won."

Jake Robinson returns to the squad after scoring for the reserves on Wednesday, but the teenage striker may have to settle for a place on the bench.

McGhee said: "We are taking Jake. He did well in the reserves, but I've still got to be sure that two wee ones (Robinson and Leon Knight) are a real option."
