Crawley manager Francis Vines today urged his players to be inspired by the magic of the FA Cup.

Reds travel to fellow Conference side Dagenham and Redbridge in the fourth qualifying round tomorrow having won just once away from home this season.

The winner receives £10,000 and the chance of drawing a League club in the first round proper.

Vines believes the incentive of trying to progress in the historic competition can help Reds end their poor away form.

He said: "A run in the FA Cup is not just about the money, it is good for the whole club. It has prestige and every player at any level should want to do well in it. If you cannot raise your game for the FA Cup then you shouldn't be playing and hopefully that will play a part in helping us end this away thing.

"We can forget about the league for a moment and concentrate on a one-off game, so we will be trying our hardest to get a result."

Vines has blamed a lack of goal power for Crawley's struggle away from The Broadfield.

Reds have failed to score in four of the last five games but Vines is confident that will change after signing winger Richard Hodgson this week.

The 25-year old became a free agent after Stevenage released him.

He is a former Nottingham Forest, Scunthorpe and Darlington professional and played against Crawley earlier this season, while on loan at Forest Green Rovers.

Vines said: "Four of our away defeats have been by the odd goal and we had chances to score in almost all of them.

"It is a matter of getting one good finish which stops the trend.

"I am confident our strikers can get the job done but we need to improve the quality of delivery to the front men and Richard's signing should help that."

Reds could do with top scorer Charlie MacDonald tomorrow but he is a major doubt with a groin injury. Fellow striker Danny Davidson (dead leg) is also expected to miss out meaning Allan Tait and Dan Marney are likely to lead the attack.

Defender Sean Hankin is rated 50-50 with a knee injury but Ben Judge is out with an ankle problem.

Judge's absence means Mo Harkin is the only survivor from the last time the sides met in the FA Cup two years ago when Dagenham won 2-1 in the second round proper.

The Daggers won by the same scoreline in the FA Trophy last season, while Reds triumphed 2-0 in the league in August.

Since then, Dagenham have won just three times in ten league matches and have slide down the league to 15th, a place below Reds.

They will be without top scorer Chris Moore (hamstring) and former QPR goalkeeper Tony Roberts, who is suspended after being sent off in last week's 2-1 defeat at Farnborough.
