Steven King will not punish his Lewes players further following their FA Cup exit at the hands of Wessex League Brockenhurst.

The Rooks missed out on a cash windfall after suffering a shock 2-1 defeat at the Dripping Pan on Saturday.

King admonished his players at half-time and, although they still lost the contest, he admits he was happy with the response he got.

He said: "The performance was 200 per cent better in the second half. We threw everything at them so I can't ask for more."

When Lewes crashed out of the FA Cup last season, King was forced to axe four of his players. But it seems unthinkable that he will be forced into a similar move, particularly as his side are currently fifth in the Conference south.

The Rooks will try to recoup some of the lost FA Cup revenue when they entertain a strong Albion side tonight.

The match has been arranged as part of the deal that took Albert Jarrett from Lewes to the Seagulls.

Former Albion goalkeeper Mark Ormerod has completed a permanent move to Worthing.

Ormerod was halfway through his second month on loan from Dorchester but the Rebels decided to act after Ormerod revealed he wanted to stay on a long-term basis.

He has now agreed a contract until 2006-07.
