Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land, the Burgess Hill-based charity formed four years ago by Brighton-based Lucy Fensom and which provides care for tortured and abandoned donkeys in Israel, needs help if it's to continue its work.

As a UK registered charity, Safe Haven relies on donations to allow Lucy to continue to look after the 76 donkeys in her care at the rescue centre near the town of Netanya.

It is therefore hoping to set up a network of volunteer fundraising groups across the country to raise vital funds and awareness.

If any readers would be interested in joining such a group, the charity would be delighted to hear from you. If joining a group is not for you, there are many other ways in which you could help.
