I fail to comprehend the objections to the King Alfred plans.

Maybe the council is determined to take as long over this plan as those ongoing regarding the London Road/railway approach saga.

As I see it, we need something special here and, in fact, all over the city.

I would agree better plans could be submitted, maybe. But those formulated are, to say the least, different.

We do not require uniform blocks no taller than those in place at the moment.

What we need is something to draw attention to our city, something striking.

Of the four originals the "squashed tin cans" is by far the best at the moment.
