A robber escaped with cash after brandishing a gun at bank workers.
The man made no attempt to disguise his face but pulled out the weapon once inside the Bristol & West bank in Worthing yesterday.
One of the cashiers said: "I didn't believe it was real. He looked like a normal customer.
"He was very suntanned and made no attempt to cover his face.
"But when he got through the doors he started looking a bit angry.
"He jumped on the seat in front of us and said it was a raid. Then I realised he had a gun."
The robber, dressed in black jeans, a blue denim jacket and a white T-shirt, waved the weapon at two female workers and told them to open their cash drawers and step away.
He removed the money, stuffed it into a green plastic carrier bag and shouted at the women to press the buzzer and let him out of the bank.
He walked into South Street at about 4.30pm.
The man, who was in his 40s and between 5ft 10in and 6ft, escaped with just under £2,000.
