A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a sports student.
Michael Robinson, 29, from Newhaven, is accused of killing Sara Cameron near her home in Earsdon, North Tyneside.
Ms Cameron, a sports management student at Northumbria University, was found dead in a field on Good Friday in April 2000.
She had been out celebrating with friends in Newcastle city centre after landing a job at the Sydney Olympics.
Robinson pleaded not guilty to murder and a charge of attempted rape at Newcastle Crown Court.
He will appear in court again in September.
