Singles can soon try to find love under a fig leaf after organisers finally secured a venue for their naked speed-dating event.

Matt Whistler was forced to postpone the evening after the owner of the original venue, a multi-million-pound house on Brighton seafront, backed out.

But this week he revealed the event, due to have a Garden of Eden theme, would take place at Chez Nous, a revamped pub in Kemp Town.

Participants will be expected to strip before having three-minute chats with members of the opposite sex.

The evening will be held on July 10. There will be champagne cocktails, a barbecue in the garden and fig leaves for the more bashful Adam and Eves.

Live music will entertain guests and there will be therapists on hand to relax lonely hearts with reflexology, reiki and Indian head massages.

Tickets cost £50 each, with 20 per cent going to Unicef.

Brighton-based Mr Whistler, who plans to be nude at the event, hopes to attract up to 300 guests.

The 32-year-old said: "This night is meant to signify the rebirth of romance, all tied in with the Garden of Eden theme.

"It will be relaxing and in a beautiful setting. Chez Nous used to be called The Bush, one of the roughest pubs in Brighton, but now it is a gorgeous venue and perfect for naked speed dating."

Chez Nous owner Dominique Burford said: "We're planning to black out the windows in the pub so no one can see in, while the back garden is very secluded.

"We hope people will meet the love of their life there, or at least leave having made one or two new friends.

"We've suddenly got lots of people volunteering to work behind the bar that night. We told them they might have to be naked too, although I'm not too sure about the health and safety aspects of that."
