Albion are hopeful of thrashing out new player deals over the next week.

The Seagulls aim to complete a batch of summer signings and finalise contract offers with players who helped the club return to Division One.

Chairman Dick Knight said: "It's all on-going, offers have been made and we are in negotiations.

"Mark (McGhee) and I have been burning the midnight oil to try and sort things out but we've not yet reached the position where pens are being put to paper. I'm certainly confident players will be tied up over the next few days."

Knight confirmed that Albion will be in the market to strengthen their squad for next season.

He said: "Mark and I have discussed the players we are looking for but it's far too early to give specific names.

"We know the sort of players we want and that is being followed through. There's nothing concrete as so many people we would like to talk to are on holiday."

McGhee hopes to bring in a striker, centre back, a winger and a left-footed central midfielder.

Meanwhile, Knight has advised supporters wishing to purchase season tickets to apply now.

Close to 4,000 were bought before the play-off final victory over Bristol City and he said: "We saw at the Millennium Stadium just how many people want to watch Albion but, with the restricted capacity of Withdean, fans wishing to watch us in Division One next season should apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out."

Season tickets are available priced between £493 and £268. The ticketline is 01273 776992.
