Brighton station is to get new toilets after a campaign to improve them lasting more than six years.
The loos, which are underground and have limited access have been labelled a disgrace by passengers.
Brighton Pavilion MP David Lepper has raised the concerns with operator Southern Trains.
In the past there have been problems with drug users.
Southern spokesman Matthew Ball said the toilets would be moved to the old creche building on the station concourse. Work is expected to start in August.
Mr Ball added: "These will be high-quality toilets which will be fully accessible and have baby-changing facilities."
The new toilets are part of an overall improvement plan for the station which will start with the staff offices.
Mr Lepper, a regular commuter, said: "I welcome this news as I continue to get complaints about the toilets, which are not pleasant places to visit.
"I do hope these plans will stay on track."
The MP said he could not vouch personally for the condition of the ladies' lavatories but had been told they were in a poor state.
Critics of the toilets have included eminent architect Lord Rogers, who last year described the men's loos as disgusting.
Southern knew the toilets were in the wrong place and unsuitable but wanted to wait until the new development to the east of the station where work is just starting.
More than seven million passengers a year use Brighton station.
