As a resident of Brunswick Terrace, I am aware of the issues related to ball games on Hove Lawns.

I am also aware of the many plus points of a friendly kick around on the lawns on a weekend.

As someone who is no Pele and so not willing (or able) to join a regular team, I enjoy my occasional opportunity to meet up with my friends for a Sunday kickabout.

What I have found during my matches is a ready supply of opponents (of many nationalities and backgrounds) willing to ask 'can we join your game'?

Often, four of us will be having a kick around and other people will come along and join in. Next thing we know, there is a new team of people enjoying an ad-hoc game, involving many ages, nationalities, and sexes.

Is this the sort of friendly game that will no longer be acceptable on Hove Lawns?
