I read your article about the new proposals by Karis for North Road, Brighton (The Argus, March 11).

I have seen the proposal and it appears we have gone from the sublime to the ridiculous.

I would question the motivation behind this proposal.

It is clearly not being taken seriously by the developer and the architect.

I would be amazed if Piers Gough really has come up with such a clichd interpretation. Instead of deckchair stripes we now have waves.

Surely someone of his experience would not design a building that was highly impractical to maintain.
