Hundreds of people protested against plans for another mobile phone mast on their estate.
Mobile phone company O2 has applied to Brighton and Hove City Council to install a ten-metre pole with three antennae and an equipment cabinet on the Brangwyn estate at Patcham, Brighton.
The mast would be just yards from one already installed by rival phone company Orange in Brangwyn Way.
Mother-of-three Ann Harrison, who has lived in the street for almost 30 years, said: "These masts are like an epidemic. I've got three children and I'm worried about the health risks. I don't even have a mobile phone and I don't want one."
One protester delivered 300 letters warning residents of the plan.
This prompted more than 250 residents to write to the council objecting to the application, which will be considered by councillors on Wednesday.
Neighbours staged the demonstration on Saturday and were boosted by support from motorists sounding their horns.
The protest was supported by Patcham's two Conservative city councillors Brian Pidgeon and Geoffrey Theobald, who said: "I shall be writing to the chief executive. I want the council to withhold permission."
