Striker Steve Harper has committed his future to Burgess Hill by signing a new two-year contract at the club.

The highly-rated forward agreed the new deal before the home game against Sittingbourne and went on to score his 22nd goal of the season in a 2-0 win which lifts the Hillians to seventh.

Shaheen Sadough opened the scoring on 17 minutes, his first goal for the club, and Harper sealed the points before half time with a header from a Nicky Sullivan cross.

Manager Gary Croydon said: "It is a major boost for us that Steve has signed.

"He has played a big part in what we have achieved and what we want to achieve in the future.

"It was good to get another win because at this stage of the season every single point is vital."
