Bus drivers and their operating company are no nearer resolving a dispute after a second one-day strike.
Stagecoach drivers in Worthing joined the picket lines on Monday after talks at the arbitration service ACAS broke down.
More stoppages are planned this month in the pay dispute.
Stagecoach managers said services in Worthing had not been affected by the walk-out.
Transport and General Workers Union official Paul Cowell said drivers in the town were great ambassadors for the company.
He said: "Unfortunately, this does not seem to count for much when negotiating an increase in wages. The current pay offer of an extra 42p an hour over the next two and a half years has been rejected as being both an insult and unrealistic."
Andrew Dyer, managing director of Stagecoach South, said some drivers had not walked out and managers and other staff had helped.
The company had made a generous offer and there were no plans for further talks at ACAS.
