A 54-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder after another woman died from a knife wound in West Sussex early today.
Police believe the 40-year-old woman was stabbed in East Ham Road, Littlehampton, at 1am today.
She was rushed to Worthing Hospital where doctors found she was dead.
The woman who was arrested was being questioned today by detectives at Worthing police station.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 607099, quoting Operation Saluki.
