Leon Knight's goalscoring exploits for Albion have landed him a boot sponsorship deal.

Top manufacturers Reebok have signed Knight up following his prolific move to the Seagulls from Chelsea.

Knight's new boots were responsible for an unusual goal celebration, suggested by assistant manager Bob Booker, when he wore them at Withdean for the first time in last Friday's 1-1 draw against Port Vale.

Knight did a Highland-type jig while pointing at his feet after slotting his 17th of the season from the penalty spot in the first half.

"Bob said you should never change the boots you have been scoring in," Knight explained.

"I told him it doesn't really matter what boots you wear, so he encouraged me if I scored to do a little boot celebration.

"I wore Nike boots before, but I didn't have a sponsorship deal with them, so I am delighted to have one with Reebok."

Knight's spot-kick against Vale was his third in the last five League games at Withdean.

"I had always taken penalties before I came to Brighton and I feel comfortable taking them," he said.

"I just try not to look at the keeper, look at the ball and just think about where I am putting it."

Knight will be spearheading the Albion attack again at Tranmere on Saturday before serving a one-match suspension which sidelines him from the sold-out visit of Wycombe Wanderers on Boxing Day.

Meanwhile, midfield duo Mark Yeates and Zesh Rehman, as expected, both signed for the Seagulls for another month on Monday on loan from Spurs and Fulham respectively.
