Four down, four defeats and I am being asked if I have any regrets about our European adventure. Regrets? I'm loving every minute of it.

Okay, I don't love the defeats or seeing empty seats when we have worked hard to bring such a high level of basketball to Sussex. But, after four games, I am still upbeat about our ULEB Cup campaign. I also believe it is time to start doing things a little differently.

These teams we are facing are really good, no doubt about it, but I honestly don't think they are any better than we are. True, we got pounded on the glass in Greece and that got me thinking we weren't big enough but we were missing players that night.

We've done well in rebounding in our other games. Looking at the Sopot game, I even think we got better shots than they did. Trouble is, we missed them. We've taken four games to think 'how can we stay close to these teams?' Stay close? We should be thinking about going into these games thinking how we will win.

That is the positive attitude with which we will go to Cholet and Split in the next two weeks.

It's difficult for us to play in that BBL, up and down, crazy basketball and, two nights later, play an organised, structured European game. Our guys are learning, though.

Looking at our home games to date, I think those against Split and Lietuvos Rytas were the best two matches we have seen here.

Split was awesome, then against the Lithuanians it was even better, not least with that atmosphere. You would think that would have drawn a lot more people to the Polish game.

I was disappointed about the size of the crowd we had. I know we're still trying to make our mark, I know 8pm on Tuesday isn't a great time for some people and I know there is the expense of three home games in a week but I would still hope that, from the population of this area, we could fill 1,200 seats to see that sporting event.

Among the crowd on Tuesday was Graham Wilson, though not on the bench. Graham, who was my assistant coach is no longer with us. Things didn't really work out but we are both comfortable with the decision.

Our next ULEB Cup game is at Cholet on Tuesday but, before that, we have another plane journey as we travel to Scottish Rocks tomorrow.

That's about as big a game as we've got right now. They have only lost once, they are going really well in the league and they are in the final of the cup.

It's another tough one. You fly there on the day of the game, you get there about four o'clock, you go straight to the arena and the ball goes up.

Steve Swanson, my former assistant here at the Bears, is off to a fantastic start up there and I'm looking forward to going head to head.

The hard part of it he's going to know everything I do and I'm not so sure about what he's going to do. Tactically, he's not doing a lot of the things we did last season. Hopefully my experience of coaching about 500 games more than him will pay off.
