Francis Vines has told his players to forget about gaining revenge over Dagenham and Redbridge in the build-up to tonight's replay against St Albans City.

The Reds were drawn against the Conference outfit in the third round yesterday giving them the chance to make amends for last season's FA Cup second round exit at the hands of the Daggers.

That 2-1 home defeat proved the turning point in Crawley's season as it sparked a slump in their league form which ultimately ended any hopes they had of winning the Dr Martens premier division title.

Now it is pay-back time but first they need to beat St Albans in the replay at the Broadfield Stadium tonight after being held to a goalless draw by the Ryman premier division side on Saturday.

Vines said: "I was not in charge last season when Dagenham beat us in the FA Cup so it doesn't really apply to me but I am sure some of the players will be looking forward to the chance of gaining revenge.

"We have got to get through first though and to do that we must create a few more chances than we did on Saturday and be a bit sharper in front of goal.

"I was not scared of what I saw of them in the first match but then again I don't think we frightened the life out of them either.

"I think we are the better side if we play to our ability but it is going to be another tight game."

Lewes and Worthing were both handed home times if they come through their rearranged second round matches tonight after both fell foul of the weather on Saturday.

If Lewes win at Cinderford they will host either Weymouth or Ashford Town (Middlesex) while Worthing welcome either Taunton or Yeading if they can beat Whyteleafe.
