As part of a group constantly and tirelessly campaigning against the current situation in the Middle East, I'm getting slightly irritated by people like Earl Barrey (Letters, November 24) asking why we aren't campaigning about any number of other issues.

If he is truly passionate about what he believes, I look forward to seeing him campaigning. As to whether demonstrating against George Bush, the biggest threat to world peace in more than half a century, is less important than council tax - let alone sad, silly or hypocritical - I'm slightly lost for words.
