Sussex's five Labour MPs have taken the unusual step of urging John Prescott to back Albion's proposed new stadium.
Brighton and Hove's Ivor Caplin, David Lepper and Des Turner were joined by Crawley's Laura Moffatt and Hastings' Michael Foster.
They urged the Deputy Prime Minister to look favourably at the proposal, subject of a long-running public inquiry that ended last month.
Mr Prescott should announce next year whether the arena should be built at Village Way North, Falmer.
Mr Caplin said: "We believe it is right."
