I hope Tory leader Brian Oxley thinks again about Hove Library (The Argus, November 13).

Whatever the final solution, it is vital to ensure computer access is available alongside books. It would be a dreadful mistake to separate them as books and computers are complimentary.

Library users must have physical access to books as retrieving them through electronic systems is not how a library should be run.

Sure, it can work if you know exactly what you want. But the pleasure and worth of a library is browsing through real books and discovering new ideas and authors.

We need more space to create a modern library so a move to Hove Town Hall seems eminently sensible.

It would create the space which is so desperately needed.
