Bogus police officers are preying on the elderly and stealing money from their homes.
One woman had £2,000 and jewellery worth several thousand pounds taken when a man claiming to be an officer tricked his way into her home in Tenterden Rise, Hastings.
Two similar incidents have also been reported to police in East Sussex.
An elderly couple living in Battle Road, St Leonards, were called on by a bogus policeman claiming to be checking for fake money.
They later found out he had stolen £700.
The next day, Friday, November 7, a man visited their home again, this time claiming to be a court bailiff but the couple refused to let him in.
Another bogus officer left when an elderly woman shut her door on him when he visited her house in Marley Lane, Battle, on Wednesday, November 12.
A spokesman said: "If in any doubt ring police and do not let them in."
