Brighton skipper Carlo Missirian is delighted with the way his side's promotion challenge is shaping up.

A 3-3 draw with leaders Ashford last Saturday left Brighton fourth in South Premier division two.

They are just a point behind Maidenhead and Staines, ensuring the title race is wide open at this early stage.

Missirian said: "The important thing is Ashford haven't got away from us.

"We don't want it to be a one-horse race, unless the one horse is us! Following our defeat at Gore Court we have really turned the corner and we have set ourselves a target whenever we face a team of emulating what Ashford did against them."

Brighton have a full strength squad to choose from for tomorrow's home game with bottom side London Wayfarers.

Rob Pyewell returns from injury for Chichester as they visit Oxford University in division one.

Goalkeeper Steve Jones is still sidelined with an on-going back problem and Neil Pendle is recovering from a knee operation.

In National League division two, East Grinstead welcome back Ashley Jackson as they entertain bottom side Oxford Hawks.

Jackson missed last Sunday's 2-2 draw with Lewes as he was at an England schools' training camp. He replaces Jason Fitzpatrick this weekend while Charlie Pine is still sidelined through injury.

Oxford Hawks could include Chris Sciandro. The Worthing player has just broken into the side at Oxford, where he is studying.

Lewes will be hoping to build on last week's draw with East Grinstead as they visit Havant.

Club captain Will Champness said: "Havant have a young side and pre-season they looked quite strong but they haven't done as well as you would have expected. They have had a similar start to us.

"We played well last week and we need to produce that form when we are playing sides who are not East Grinstead."

Lewes are unchanged with player-coach Renwick Irvine still injured. Havant are coached by former East Grinstead man Ian Pattison.

In the Kent/Sussex Regional League, Horsham welcome back Ian Brown, Peter Lambert and Andrew Hartley as they entertain leaders Sevenoaks.

Worthing are without unavailable trio Dave Clayton, David Edmondson and Brian Coult. Mark Minchell returns after scoring for the seconds last week and Liam Clark is also drafted in.
