A pensioner died after being hit by a car on a busy road in Hove.
The 79-year-old was crossing New Church Road near its junction with Saxon Road when she was in collision with a Renault Megane.
The accident happened at 6.25pm on Saturday. The woman was taken by ambulance to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where she died yesterday morning.
The car driver, a 32-year-old man from Hove, suffered shock.
Police appealed for witnesses to call 0845 6070999.
