Ennio Marchetto has carved out a clever niche with his ingenious show.

The paperweight comic has created an array of costumes from paper which he uses to transform himself into such icons as Dolly Parton, Stevie Wonder and Snow White.

It may not sound like much but the sight of Wagner's Grunhilde metamorphosing into an Oktoberfest beer maid and then into a desiccated Marlene Dietrich is quite astounding.

Similarly, Celine Dion transforms into the bow of the Titanic complete with a mini Leo Di Caprio and Kate Winslet.

He does not rely on his costumes to carry the act as he is also a great physical comedian who can ape the movements of his subjects such as Whitney Houston's flamboyant gesticulation giving away to Tina Turner's jerky, arthritic dancing.

But the best parodies are the ones with the biggest contrast, such as Kylie Minogue becoming The Singing Nun.

Marchetto's routine is also finely judged: He doesn't wait for the show to go stale, he finishes in about an hour to leave the audience calling for more.

This show is a delight, combining ingenuity with comic contrasts and precise mimicry, and there's nothing else like it at the festival.
