A burglar who tricked his way into a West Sussex pensioner's home was today branded "despicable" by police.
The culprit pretended to be a family member and walked into the 88-year-old man's home in Maltravers Drive, Littlehampton.
The confused victim handed over money and the intruder also stole his CD player and video recorder.
Police said the pensioner has been left shaken by the incident on Wednesday at about 10pm.
Appealing for witnesses, Sergeant Hugh Copeland said: "It is a despicable act against a vulnerable, elderly man."
