The fistful of seafront developments running from Brighton Marina to the King Alfred in Hove probably all have merits and drawbacks.

A major problem is that the developments are being worked out in "partnership" with what is basically an unreformed borough council probably not up to dealing with big business or big issues.

This is the downside of a large town having achieved city status. A big city employing talented and tough personnel would be on top of planning proposals and committed to ensuring the best all round deal for its taxpayers.
