People are being given the chance to air their views on a proposed new restricted parking zone in Brighton.

Consultation on the plan for the Prestonville area begins on Friday, October 10.

Brighton and Hove City Council says residents and businesses have already supported the scheme.

In a survey, 68 per cent were in favour and 29 per cent opposed.

Three streets - Old Shoreham Road, York Grove and Highcroft Villas - were against the plan.

Half of the businesses which responded were in favour.

A traffic order will now be advertised to allow a three-week period for formal comments, which can be emailed to prestonville@brightonhove.gov.uk

If the scheme is approved, it will come into operation in March. It follows other parking zones brought in recently, such as Goldsmid and Westbourne, due to start in November.
