Lewes today fined members of their squad for what they describe as a 'serious breach of club discipline.'

The incident happened last Friday when the club were in Lowestoft preparing for an FA Cup tie the following day which Lewes lost 2-1.

A club statement said: "The players involved have let down their manager, their colleagues, our supporters and our club.

"As a result the players identified as being involved have received substantial fines and have been given written warmings about their future conduct."

The Rooks have also released Julian Curnow, Tom Graves, Robert Hughes and Anthony Charles, who only recently joined the club on loan from Aldershot.

A club statement said: "Following the club's early exit from the FA Cup, it has been necessary to re-examine the playing budget and squad size.

"After consulation with our manager, we have regretfully decided to release four players."
