When pop starlet Britney Spears bought a handful of button badges in Brighton, she became the latest celebrity enticed by the cheeky work of Simon Spicer.

Simon, from Kemp Town, has a cult following with his distinctive badges, cards and T-shirts ranging from the saucy to the downright offensive. The "Wine Me, Dine Me, 69 Me" logo which Britney bought is one of his tamer efforts.

Actress Angelina Jolie has already bought into the brand and Simon, 36, said he would be looking out for more of Hollywood's A-List sporting his designs - such as Britney's former boyfriend Justin Timberlake.

He said: "Angelina Jolie bought some of my cards in a shop in Piccadilly Circus. I know she got one that says U Smell Of Wee.

"There's also a shop in Portabello Road where I'm told Faye Ripley from Cold Feet likes my cards.

"Hopefully Britney will give a badge to Justin. I'll keep an eye out on Top Of The Pops to see if anyone's wearing them."

Simon, who is originally from Shoreham, said he started making the cards for friends for fun five years ago.

The cards include wittily-captioned old photographs or plain old-fashioned swearing and are categorised as "Silly" or "Nasty".

One simply has a picture of a white cat wearing a collar saying "I Am Evil".

Designs by Simon's company, Kiss Me Kwik, are also featured on T-shirts and cushions.

He said: "Sometimes I just find an old photo and the jokes come instantly and sometimes I think of something funny and find a picture to fit it.

"The cards are on sale in Brighton, London and America."

Simon's badges are on sale in Pussy in Kensington Gardens and Bartholomews, Brighton, and his T-shirts are at Get Cutie, Kensington Gardens.
