An investigation has been launched after a pensioner's body was washed up on a West Sussex beach.
The 75-year-old man's body was spotted in the sea off Felpham, near Bognor, just after 3pm yesterday by two boys out swimming.
Sunbathers watched in horror as the man was pulled ashore by Coastguards after a member of the public raised the alarm.
Police sealed off the stretch of beach as they launched an investigation into the man's death.
Officers said he had not yet been identified.
A post-mortem examination was due to be carried out this morning. The death is not believed to be suspicious.
