I find it difficult to describe how disgusted I was at the very large increase awarded to Mr Panter.

Immoral and outrageous are two words which spring to mind.

I work full-time in a local pharmacy.

My annual rise was two-and-a-quarter per cent, so when council tax - like Mr Panter's rise - went up well above inflation, it was goodbye to my rise.

Like so many other people, my annual salary is nowhere near his pay rise.

Didn't firemen - who put their lives on the line every day - come in for criticism for asking for an above-inflation pay rise?

The cost of living in Brighton and Hove is high compared to wages and many people struggle to keep their heads above water but what do those at the council care?

They only remember we exist when they want our votes.

These fat cats should set an example and show restraint. A pay rise, okay, but in line with inflation please.

Damn greedy is what I call it.
