West Sussex League: Palmers returned to the top of division one after beating Brighton Insurance in a rain-affected game.

Insurance, batting second, made 131-8 from 38 overs when the heavens opened. It made no difference to the outcome, however, as Palmers had already hit 219-7, thanks to Guy Seaborn (65) and Nick Buckley (52), to win on a a faster run-rate.

West Chiltington are the new title-challengers after taking maximum points from a home win against Ram.

Ram made 234 all out against the bowling of Cleaver (4-41). But it was not enough as the home side replied on 235-9, Rob Llwellyn scoring 63 to take Chiltington to within three points of the leaders.

Lancing Manor's game at Shoreham was also affected by rain but they won on a superior run-rate.

Shoreham made 180 as Manor bowler Wayne Collins (5-54) did the most damage. Lancing faced 34 overs in their reply before the rain came down, but sealed victory on 161-8. Chris Hazlehurst top scored with 52.

West Blatchington remain in the title hunt following an eight-wicket away win against Three Bridges IV.

Derek Wolfe (37) and Luke Johnson (36 not out) top scored for Bridges, who struggled to 162-8 after good spells with the ball by Kris Radmell (3-17).

Radmell then made 46 which, along with 47 from Rob Strickland and 37 not out by Joe Carthew, eased West Blatchington to 164-2.

Good knocks by Steve Harris (59) and Nick Barrett (55 not out) helped Three Bridges III to maximum points at Chichester Priory. Bridges posted 227-8, which was more than enough, as Priory floundered to 110 all out in reply.

Middleton eased to a comfortable win at Hove Medina, thanks to good batting displays by Neil Pacey (70) and Bradbury (50 not out). They helped Middleton set a target of 247-8 and Hove got nowhere near as they struggled to 97. Hansford was the pick of the Middleton attack with 3-15.
