A retired dentist was kicked by a rising rap star so hard that bone was left poking through his skin.

John Lee, 71, from Pulborough, was left sprawling on the ground in agony with a broken right shin after being attacked in a road rage incident opposite Guy's Hospital, in London.

Kolade Adefolaju, 27, from Walworth in London, was yesterday jailed for three years after being found guilty of causing grevious bodily harm with intent.

Inner London Crown Court heard Adefolaju, who is on the verge of a major record deal, flew into a rage after clipping Mr Lee with the wing mirror of his motor scooter on September 18.

He then blocked the pavement with his bike and demanded money for "damage".

Donora Macaulay, prosecuting, said: "Mr Lee refused and told him he was going to telephone the police.

"A few seconds later he felt a tremendous blow to his lower right leg."

Mr Lee's fracture had to be plated and screwed, the court heard. He also needed a bone graft operation.

Adefolaju has previous convictions for robbery and threatening and abusive behaviour.
