The wanted to bounce back from last week's disappointing defeat against Pagham but had to settle for eight points when the match against Clymping was abandoned with Arundel on 4-1.

Bob Reynolds hit 44 for Broadwater as they made 83-8 before rain intervened in their trip to Lindfield. Each team were awarded eight points as were the other sides who were due to play before the heavens opened.

Meanwhile, only two games started in the Cuckmere Valley League and neither was finished.

Withyham had reached 122-5 from 30 overs away to Denton in division one when the rain intervened. Ian Adams had scored 33 while Nick Young took 3-13 for the hosts.

In division two, Nick House hit an unbeaten 74 as Laughton reached 152-5 from 30 overs at home to Isfield before the weather ensured a premature halt to proceedings. Sam Fitzgerald held three catches in the field for Isfield.
