An elderly disabled man is in hospital after apparently stabbing himself in the chest.
Police and ambulance crews were alerted at 7pm last night, when a jogger reported seeing the injured pensioner slumped in West Parade, Worthing.
A police spokeswoman said: "He suffered superficial injuries after receiving a stab wound, which police believe was self-inflicted."
The scene, at a seafront bus shelter, was still cordoned off this morning.
The man, 70, is recovering in Worthing Hospital.
