Eastbourne Borough skipper Daren Pearce missed a penalty as his side dropped two vital points in a 2-2 draw at home to Corby Town.

Borough had just equalised with seven minutes to go when Scott Ramsay was fouled by Lee Vallance.

But Pearce saw his penalty saved and Borough's promotion bid hit a slight bump.

Corby signalled their intentions early on when Vallance was booked after just 20 seconds for a late challenge on Ramsay.

Borough were trying to play football and sent in a barrage of crosses without having any effect.

But one such cross, from Pearce on 11 minutes, was met by a glancing header from Justin Harris to give Borough the lead.

Borough started to lose their way a bit after the goal but one bit of superb football involving Andy Ducille saw Ramsay fire over from six yards.

They looked to have settled for the half time lead when Corby stunned the Priory Lane crowd on 41 minutes. Lee Glover curled in a free-kick and Jamie Hawthorne rose highest to head home.

Wayne Spencer put Corby ahead on 62 minutes when he followed up Danny Maye's saved shot to score.

Seven minutes from time Pearce volleyed Peter Baker's cross across the face of goal and Mark Goodwin scored from close range to make it 2-2.

Then, barely a minute later, Ramsay was fouled in the box by Vallance but Pearce saw his penalty saved.

Ben Carrington and Florian Mateos both scored twice as Worthing extended their unbeaten run to seven matches with a 5-1 away win at Epsom and Ewell in Ryman League division one south.

Andy Walker got the other goal as the hosts, who had keeper Dave Hyatt stretchered off with an ankle injury just before the break, were taken apart.

Carrington had an effort ruled out through offside before giving Rebels the lead on 18 minutes and Walker doubled the advantage two minutes later with a superb strike from 25 yards.

The hosts were forced to put Kevin Webb in goal when keeper Hyatt was injured.

Mateos, who had gone four months without scoring, put the game out of Epsom's reach ten minutes after the break by firing the third from an acute angle from 18 yards.

The Frenchman struck again a minute later by scoring in the centre of the goal following a pass by Carrington.

Graham Morris pulled one back with a penalty before Carrington wrapped up victory.

Goals from Gavin Geddes, Steffan Ball and Lee Carney earned Horsham a 3-1 win over Shoreham in the semi final of the Brighton Charity Cup.
