The one-off King Unique makes Cream the place to be this week, but a Footballers' Wives theme party run by Wild Fruit also sounds too good to miss.

CREAM, The Honeyclub, Brighton, April 4.

Headliners King Unique are the real deal in the world of funky, uplifting house. They are, quite literally, unique.

They have been responsible for some amazing remixes in recent years but, more importantly for clubbers, they are devastating DJs when it comes to working a crowd.

Don't forget local boy Johnny Nicely, who will be playing classic house in room two.

10pm to 3am. Admission is £10 (tickets are also available in advance from BPM Music and HMV Brighton).

WILD FRUIT, Creation, Brighton, April 7.

The idea of Wild Fruit hosting a Footballers' Wives theme party must seem like a golden goal for sexy-legged boys and fantastic drag divas.

The gay bash returns for 300 minutes of action, ably refereed by Yvette.

The DJ team includes the all-star attack of Guy Williams, Pete Haywood and Neil Duffie, while the watching (and dancing) crowd should feature lovely orange tans.

The dress code is sportingly simple - football kits, trashy designer clobber and flash hair and nails.

10pm. £8/7 (£6 before 10.30pm with flyer and NUS).

THE BOUTIQUE, Concorde 2, Brighton, April 11.

So Sheffield gets May Day Mayhem and we get an April shower.

Only this lot aren't really a shower. Midfield General, Erol Alkan and Skint recording artists Lo-fidelity Allstars hit the Boutique for what should be a big party.

The Boutique has hit a rich vein of form in recent weeks and we should be hoping it continues.

10pm to 3am. Admission £10.
