How can anyone have any faith in rail supremo Richard Bowker ("Putting trains back on track", The Argus, April 2) when the biggest train operators' subsidies go to Virgin, where his father-in-law is on the board, and to Connex, a major contributor to Labour Party funds?

And can anyone tell me why rail privatisation is called "free enterprise" when it costs the taxpayer far more than British Rail ever did?

Are we being done?
