Former Brighton and Hove Albion stars will be taking part in a charity match to honour the courage of a football-loving schoolgirl suffering with cancer.
Gerry armstrong and Steve Foster will be among the former BSeagulls favourites who will be taking part in the game to raise money for the cancer care unit at the Royal Alexandra Children's Hospital in Brighton.
The match was the idea of Yvonne Ford, 32, whose eight-year-old daughter, Shannon, was diagnosed with lymphoma - cancer of the immune system - in December last year.
Shannon, who attends Hoddern Junior School, Peacehaven, is a keen football fan and plays for Brighton and Hove under-11 girls' team.
Her mother said: "Shannon is receiving chemotherapy and she has been so courageous throughout her battle.
"It should be a great night of charity football in her honour."
The match, between a Brighton and Hove Albion Select XI and a Peacehaven and Newhaven Select XI, takes place at Peacehaven and Telscombe FC in Piddinghoe Avenue, Peacehaven, on Friday, April 11, at 7.30pm.
The Albion side will include John Keeley, Steve Foster, Steve Gatting, Ian Chapman, John Byrne, Gerry Armstrong, Gerry Ryan, Dean Wilkins and John Crumplin, along with current assistant manager Bob Booker.
Admission is £2.50 for adults and 50p for children.
