As a citizen of the United States who has lived in Brighton for 35 years, I am utterly appalled by the recent malicious behaviour of some of the so-called peace-loving war protesters who broke into Brighton Town Hall and congregated at the Amex building, ripping up the US flag.
Anti-American sentiments are running as high as I can remember since my move to the UK in 1956.
Unfortunately, it would appear a new form of racism is emerging, directed at the US and fuelled by militant anti-war protesters.
I am angered and deeply concerned.
